What is it about?
National Service (NS) is the name given to the compulsory conscription in Singapore of all male Singaporean citizens and second-generation permanent residents upon reaching the age of 18. They serve a 2-year as Full Time National Service (NSFs) in the Singapore Armed Force (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF), all the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
When was it introduced?
Full-time National Service was introduced in Singapore in March 1967.
Who does it affect?
NS has affected those who are liable to serve National Service, but refuse to, are changed under Enlistment Act.
Why is it important for Singapore?
National Service provides manpower for meeting minimum military force requirements. It can also provide training to a wide range which serves as a ready stand by that can be brought up to speed quickly in an emergency. There are also various public works projects that can be completed for the good of the country.

What difficulty did I face in completing this assignment? Member 1: Unknowingly, I would get distracted and play and chat with her. Could not concentrate.
Member 2: Could not make a decision in choosing information as there are various of it.
What did I do to overcome this difficulty?
Member 1: We went to the library so that we have no chance to talk.
Member 2: We tried to stay focused, we took short breaks to relax awhile and continue for better results.
How do I ensure that I would not face such difficulties again in the future?
Member 1: Ask my partner to alert me whenever I get distracted.
Member 2: We will try to understand the topic more deeply beforehand.
What do I enjoy about this activity? Member 1: We learn more new stuffs about each other and also know more knowledge about National Service.
Member 2: I get to work with my friend and build up our relationship.
How did I work with my partner to complete this assignment? Member 1: We tried our best to stay focus and managed our time well.
